ZBRUSH EXPERIMENTS

As can be seen above I have began experimenting with my Zbrush asset that will be added into my 3D generated scene. This part of my practical is mostly for show reel aesthetic purposes in order to show off more of my rounded skillset within Visual Effects on a whole.
However this will also be useful for my work and study around Plugins. This is due to the Plugin that I am targeting my study at is centred around joining your work and assets from several different software and outlets all complied in on place in a file set up. Therefore it would be considerably more valid for my study if i were able to utalise as many different software as possible for the overall sequence. Hence why i am joining the likes of Autodesk Maya, ZBrush, Houdini, Nuke, Substance Painter and Premiere Pro. The more software the better!
The three screenshots above or evidence of the initial geometry build up in Zbrush all of which were inspired through reference images and geometry of a real alligator so that the creation would be as accurate as possible.
critical analysis of my design process

In this section of my website I will be discussing the development of my character design and the strengths and weaknesses of this. I began with concept art and digital designs of creatures that I enjoyed the style of. However i knew from this process that i would need to gather more geometry and data from that of a real life alligator or crocodile in order to get the correct proportions for the creature.
The strengths of this research section were that i was able to create a styalised character that was personalised to me and not copied. My aim this year in my master's project is to get better at finding my own style and making my own story with my 3D characters and environments somewhat inspired by Disney Pixar characters but my own style (so not to be copyrighted in addition to creating my own brand). Additionally to this i found the colour boards and moodboards based on colour theory and imagery very beneficial to finding the personality for my character. This meant i was able to choose the correct colours for them without having the - sometimes long - process of trial and error.
